Tomato Salad with Olive Oil & Flor de Sal Garden – Summer on a Plate

La Chinata Olivenöl Extra Vergine und Flor de Sal Garden für Tomatensalat

Serves 2–3 · 15 minutes

When tomatoes are truly ripe, they need little more than oil, acidity and a good salt. Flor de Sal Garden adds a fine herbal note and turns a simple tomato salad into a small Mediterranean moment.

Ingredients

  • 600 g ripe tomatoes in different colours
  • 1 small red onion
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 handful basil
  • jaramari Flor de Sal Garden
  • freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Cut the tomatoes into rough pieces. Slice the onion very finely.
  2. Mix the tomatoes and onion with olive oil and vinegar. Let stand for ten minutes so the juices and oil can come together.
  3. Tear the basil roughly, fold it in and finish with Flor de Sal Garden and pepper just before serving.

The jaramari tip

Do not salt the salad too early. Flor de Sal Garden belongs on the plate at the end — this preserves its delicate texture and keeps the herbs clear in flavour.
