Avocado Toast with Mediterranean Flor de Sal – in 10 Minutes

A good breakfast, a light lunch or a quick evening by the open window: this avocado toast lives from a few clear ingredients. Ripe avocado, lemon, olive oil and a final pinch of Flor de Sal bring freshness, texture and a little southern sunshine to the bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 large slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 unwaxed lemon
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small handful basil or flat-leaf parsley
  • a few cherry tomatoes, optional
  • jaramari Flor de Sal with Mediterranean herbs

Method

  1. Toast the bread until golden brown.
  2. Roughly mash the avocado with a fork. Fold in lemon zest and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  3. Spread the avocado over the warm bread. Drizzle with olive oil and add halved cherry tomatoes if you like.
  4. Finish with herbs and Flor de Sal. Salt only at the very end so the delicate crystals remain noticeable.
